They are due no later than noon the day before the election (Friday, noon, May 13, 2022).
When is my absentee ballot due?
Absentee ballots are due no later than May 14th at 6pm. Absentee ballots received after this time will not be counted. So be sure to mail early or send online!
How do I get an application for an absentee ballot?
You can either pick up an application at the City Hall window from 8:30 am-4:00pm (window closed for lunch from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm each day) OR you can obtain from the website http://ci.lewes.de.us/273/Election-Information. This link may not have full information until after the cut-off for candidates on April 7, 2022.
How do I submit my absentee ballot application?
You can either mail it to: City of Lewes, P.O. BOX 227, Lewes, Delaware. Attn: Absentee Ballot App. OR you can drop it off in the drop box in front of City Hall. OR you can email it to election@ci.lewes.de.us

According to the Lewes City Code: “In addition to the reasons for absentee voting specified in 15 Del. C. § 7571, a registered voter may also cast an absentee ballot if the voter prefers not to vote in person due to considerations of public or personal health.”
